compact/view is a platform for artists to show their work in public spaces, projecting photographs and videos from the inside of a building onto its front street level windows. The projections are viewable to the public from the sidewalk every night.

compact/view transforms the streets into a gallery.

compact/view started in July 2003 as a project of the compact/space gallery in the heart of Berlin and is starting in July 2004 in Los Angeles.

compact/view aims to create a dialogue on downtown Los Angeles with the people living and visiting the city.

compact/view will organize themes and events with various artists, art associations and art schools from Los Angeles and other countries.

compact/view is looking for building owners and managers in downtown Los Angeles who are interested to participate in this art project while their space is vacant.
